The annual planning meeting was held on May 17. The following events have been added to the calendar. Please note that dates and times may change.

September 8 – Pack meeting, Kerr cafeteria, 7pm

September 12 – Popcorn pep rally, Tinseltown on the Tollway, 9am-10am

September 20 – Bike rally, Allen skate park, 3pm-5pm

September 26-27 – Webelos Outdoor Weekend

October 9 – Tiger cub lock-in

8/30/2009 committee meeting minutes

8/30/2009 committee meeting minutes:

The meeting was attended by Kevin Frost, Brad Bollinger, Natalye Bollinger, Joann Hicks, Vicki Beaver, Jeremy Beaver, Susan Ponder, Eliazar Cavazos and Lillie Tice.

*The first Pack Meeting will be Tuesday, September 8 at 7pm in the Kerr cafeteria. 

  **Awards will be passed out.  Each den will assemble near the stage.  The den leader will give a summary of the awards earned.  Awards will be handed out when the den returns to their table.

  **It is open mike night so tell us your best jokes! 

  **The Fall family campout will be November 13-15.  Please check you calendars.  We need to make our reservation ASAP to guarantee we will get enough campsites.

  **T-shirts will be sold at the pack meeting for $10.  Sizes are limited. 

*Join Scouting Night – Thursday, September 10, 7pm, Kerr cafeteria

  **Troops 1299 and 306 boy scouts will be entertaining the boys.

  **All den leaders should attend to help.  Please arrive at 6:30pm to begin set-up.

  **Brad Bollinger and Kevin Frost will lead the meeting and give a presentation to the parents.

  **Den leaders will assist parents with questions and filling out forms.

  **TENTATIVE-September 17, Thursday-New parent meeting

*Pack positions that need to be filled:  Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, Committee Secretary, Camping Coordinator, Advancements Coordinator, Events Coordinator

*Website – we will continue with the current website until October.  During this time we will be exploring alternate options.  We would appreciate help from anyone in the pack who can provide information about hosting the website.

*All leaders must complete Youth Protection Training!  It’s easy and online.  Go to:  http://olc.scouting.org/index.html

*Upcoming events:

September 8, Tuesday – Pack meeting at Kerr cafefteria, 7pm 

September 10, Thursday - Join scouting night – 7pm (please arrive at 6:30pm!) - We will need all den leaders to help with this event!

September 12, Saturday -  Popcorn pep rally – 9am to 10am – Tinseltown Cinema at Parker & the Tollway – This is a fun event for all scouts.  Free popcorn!  Fun prizes!  Contact person for this event: Natalye Bollinger

September 20, Sunday - Bike rally – Allen Station skate park “The Edge” – 3 to 5 pm – Contact person for this event: Kelli Froman

September 26-27 – Webelos Outdoor Weekend – Camp James Ray

7/24/2009 committee meeting minutes

7/23/2009 committee meeting minutes:

The meeting was attended by Kevin Frost, Brad Bollinger, Joann Hicks, Vicki Beaver, Jeremy Beaver, Susan Ponder, Eliazar Cavazos and Lillie Tice.

*Our new Cubmaster is Brad Bollinger!

*Our new Roundtable representative is Eliazar Cavazos!

*Other positions that need to be filled:  Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, Committee Secretary, Camping Coordinator, Advancements Coordinator, Events Coordinator

*The storage unit fees were paid for the next 6 months.  The contract was put in Kevin Frost’s name to update the contact information.  We will be organizing and cleaning the storage unit on Sunday, August 23 at 2pm.

*Website – we wil comtinue with the current website until October.  During this time we will be exploring alternate options.  We would appreciate help from anyone in the pack who can provide information about hosting the website.

*We will be taking an inventory of the t-shirts we have on hand.  They will be sold at the pack meetings for $10.  Sizes are limited.

July 26, Sunday - In Sync Exotics – 3pm – Contact person for this event: Vicki Beaver

August 16, Sunday - Plano Bowl – 3 to 5 pm – Contact person for this event:  Lillie Tice

August 20, Thursday – Meet the teacher night – We will set up a table at “Meet the teacher” night to distribute info about cub scouting and the back to school pool party.  Lillie will prepare a flyer.

August 27, Thursday – Committee meeting – Susan Ponder’s house, 7pm

August 29, Saturday – Back to school picnic – 4 to 7pm – Contact person for this event: Vicki Beaver

September 9 or 10?? - date is unconfirmed at this time – Join scouting night – 7pm - We will need all den leaders to help with this event!

*We need a roundtable representative to attend the August meeting.  Roundtable meets on the 1st Thursday of each month.  August is the most important meeting because the new distict calendar will be presented.

**No checks will be issued for amounts greater than $100 without committee approval.

February 2009 committee meeting minutes

2/26/2009 committee meeting minutes:

*Our Pack Treasurer, Natalye Bollinger, presented an update of the pack finances. *Joann Hicks, our Advancement Coordinator, discussed the deadline for entering rank achievements:  March 9.  All achievements must be completed and entered by March 9 for a scout to be eligible for advancement at Blue and Gold.  All den leaders need to be aware of this deadline.*There will not be a pack meeting in March due to Blue and Gold.  The Webelo IIs will have their Crossover ceremony at the April pack meeting.   Therefore, all awards earned in March and April will be distributed at the May pack meeting.

*Scouting for food bag was a huge success!  Thank you, Susan Ponder, for organizing this event for our pack.  We are so proud of all the scouts and their families who participated!!  1713 cans of food were collected by Pack 870!!

*Scout Show – May 2 – Ballpark at Arlington, 10:00am to 3:00pm

*Cub World – March 7 – more information coming soon

*Scout Service Day – March 14 – 8:30 to 12:30 - This is a district event.  More information coming soon.

*The annual planning meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 17.  If you would like to participate in planning the calendar for next year’s events, please plan to attend.  We need your ideas.*Den leaders:  we need one volunteer from each den for the following committees:  Blue & Gold, Spring camp out, End of the year picnic.  Please email the names to Lillie Tice.  I will forward the info to the appropriate committee head.

*Spring family camp out – April 24-26 – Additional info to be provided by Jeremy & Vickie Beaver.
