<p>We are getting closer to our Pine Wood Derby on January 23rd, so there are a few items I would like to up date you on for the event.</p>
<p>First, prior to the race, there is a pre-race event on Friday night (Jannuary 22nd). Starting at 7pm we will begin setting up the track, bleachers, snack bar, activities area and decorations. Starting at around 8, the track and scales will be available for test running/weighing. Anyone is welcome to participate in set-up and/or testing.</p>
<p>Secondly, the committe has been working diligently to provide a fun, entertaining and well choreographed race. To aid in this effort, we are providing the following schedule to help guide you through the day. We will do our best ot follow this schedule, but please remember this is a guide line.</p>
<p>  <strong><span style="COLOR: #ff0000">  8:00 &#8211; 9:00- Registration of Cars</span></strong><br />
    <span style="COLOR: #3366ff">8:30 &#8211; 9:30- Take orders for Pizza and sell Chick-fil-a biscuits<br />
    9:00 &#8211; 9:30- Administration time: finalize last minute details, etc<br />
    9:30 &#8211; 10:00- Bears 1<br />
    10:00 &#8211; 10:30- Web 2 Cobras<br />
    10:30 &#8211; 11:00- Tigers<br />
    11:00 &#8211; 11:30- Wolves 1<br />
    11:30 &#8211; 12:00- Bears 2<br />
    12:00 &#8211; 12:30-Wolves 2<br />
    12:30 &#8211; 1:00- Web 1 Dragons<br />
    1:00 &#8211; 1:30- Pack Finals<br />
    1:30 &#8211; 2:00- Sibling Race<br />
    2:00 &#8211; 2:30- Adult race<br />
    2:00 &#8211; 3:00- Awards</span></p>
<p>Finally, please see a few notes regarding how the races will be run and prizes awarded.</p>
<p> Trophy’s awarded to the following:<br />
    Pack 1st -3rd<br />
    Den 1st &#8211; 3rd<br />
    Siblings 1st &#8211; 3rd<br />
    Coolest Car<br />
    Best of Show</p>
<p>Field for the finals will be chosen by selecting the top two cars  (fastest avg. time ) from the den races, plus the next two fastest ( not placing 1st or 2nd in their respective den ) times from the pack.</p>
<p>Attached are the rules one last time to consult as you are building your cars. <span style="COLOR: #ff0000">PLEASE REVIEW THESE!!!!</span> We will be following these rules as we check in the cars on Saturday. morning.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For those who have been with for awhile or for those just joining welcome to your first Camp out email.</p>
<p>Pack 870 will be camping at Lake Ray Roberts on November 13, 14th and 15th.  This is our Fall Family Camping trip.  We have fun things planned like dutch oven cook off during Saturday night campfire, marshmallow gun wars and hike.</p>
<p>In order to organize this it is important for the Camp Out Chairs to get commitments early so that we may reserve spots so we are all together.</p>
<p>I am attaching the camping form which tells us if you are going and how many in your family and the cost.  The second form is Family Camping rules that must be signed and returned and lastly the Medical Form required by BSA for everyone participating.  This is a very important form and will stay with the Pack during our outings in case of an emergency.</p>

Becky Hand will be assisting</p>
<p>Please feel free to call with questions.  The deadline for a decision is October 6th I would need the forms and money as the next day I will be reserving our spots and they fill up fast. If you cannot commit we may not be able to guarantee a spot after this date. October 6th for many of you will be your first Pack Meeting at Kerr Elementary we will be set up to answer questions and collect money.  </p>

<p>The meeting was attended by Kevin Frost, Brad Bollinger, Natalye Bollinger, Joann Hicks, Vicki Beaver, Jeremy Beaver, Susan Ponder, Eliazar Cavazos and Lillie Tice.</p>
<p>*The first Pack Meeting will be Tuesday, September 8 at 7pm in the Kerr cafeteria. </p>
<p>  **Awards will be passed out.  Each den will assemble near the stage.  The den leader will give a summary of the awards earned.  Awards will be handed out when the den returns to their table.</p>
<p>  **It is open mike night so tell us your best jokes! </p>
<p>  **The Fall family campout will be November 13-15.  Please check you calendars.  We need to make our reservation ASAP to guarantee we will get enough campsites.</p>
<p>  **T-shirts will be sold at the pack meeting for $10.  Sizes are limited. </p>
<p>*Join Scouting Night &#8211; Thursday, September 10, 7pm, Kerr cafeteria</p>
<p>  **Troops 1299 and 306 boy scouts will be entertaining the boys.</p>
<p>  **All den leaders should attend to help.  Please arrive at 6:30pm to begin set-up.</p>
<p>  **Brad Bollinger and Kevin Frost will lead the meeting and give a presentation to the parents.</p>
<p>  **Den leaders will assist parents with questions and filling out forms.</p>
<p>  **TENTATIVE-September 17, Thursday-New parent meeting</p>
<p>*Pack positions that need to be filled:  Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, Committee Secretary, Camping Coordinator, Advancements Coordinator, Events Coordinator</p>
<p>*Website &#8211; we will continue with the current website until October.  During this time we will be exploring alternate options.  We would appreciate help from anyone in the pack who can provide information about hosting the website.</p>

<p>*Other positions that need to be filled:  Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, Committee Secretary, Camping Coordinator, Advancements Coordinator, Events Coordinator</p>
<p>*The storage unit fees were paid for the next 6 months.  The contract was put in Kevin Frost&#8217;s name to update the contact information.  We will be organizing and cleaning the storage unit on Sunday, August 23 at 2pm.</p>
<p>*Website &#8211; we wil comtinue with the current website until October.  During this time we will be exploring alternate options.  We would appreciate help from anyone in the pack who can provide information about hosting the website.</p>
<p>*We will be taking an inventory of the t-shirts we have on hand.  They will be sold at the pack meetings for $10.  Sizes are limited. </p>
